The first edition of
ELEMENTI (17/21 May 2006) examines the theme of fire as a
key for interpreting the complex relationships between man and “vital”
elements of nature (the sun, plant and animal species, the atmosphere)
and above all with energy sources, along with the many possible types
of energy that the conservation of the ecosystem and the future of
mankind depend on.
Yet the many implications
concerning the scientific aspect of fire– from the
reduction of emissions and its effects on the lifestyles of people in
industrialised countries to natural environmental phenomena such as
volcanoes– are integrated and placed alongside evocative “imagined”
forms of this archetypal Element.
Through the contribution of international guests - scientists,
intellectuals, politicians and institutional representatives,
narrators and artists- called upon to interpret the many images
conjured up by fire the element, four thematic itineraries are
introduced using a number of disciplines:
the fire below us (read...)
the fire above us
(read...)
the fire beside us
(read...)
the fire inside us
(read...)
The calendar is currently being drawn up.
